TLC's Infant Care
Infant Care & Curriculum
Inside your baby’s young brain, connections are constantly being made and the environment that The Learning Center creates will help build the foundation for their cognitive development. A safe, secure and home-like setting is necessary for your baby to show feelings and needs through sounds, facial expressions and movements. TLC's loving, caring and knowledgeable staff offers opportunities to promote learning as they foster the infants’ physical, social, emotional, and intellectual development. |
Primary care groups, such as those formed at TLC, promote bonding with an infant and their caregiver through warm and caring interactions. A consistent and trusting relationship enables infants to develop the ability to connect with others throughout life. Skilled teachers use daily routines as opportunities to talk to children, explain what is being experienced and build closer ties. They also respond to baby's communication and children start to trust that their needs will be met. With object permanence games like peekaboo, babies begin to recognize familiar objects and people, and anticipate their return. Babies, as well as their families, benefit from continuity between home and child care staff. A good relationship between teachers and parents helps ease the transition into childcare. Your child's age influences their ability to adjust, but our skilled teachers help babies and parents work through this period of adjustment. We know that nothing can replace a parent's love and we will develop strong bonds through tender loving care to help the children adjust and thrive. |
